Most visitors to Chitina come by private vehicle.
Public bus service is also available, and there is a local airport
with regular connections to McCarthy and Kennicott, which also have
connections to Glennallen and Anchorage by local flight services.
There is also ferry service from Whittier to Valdez.

Driving Directions
From Glennallen
Drive south 34 miles on the Richardson Highway towards Valdez. Take
the Edgerton Highway east. We are located at Mile
33 of the Edgerton Highway, near the confluence of the Copper
River and Chitina River, nestled between the Chugach and Wrangell
Mountains.
From Anchorage
Drive 187 miles east on the Glenn Highway to Glennallen. Follow
directions from Glennallen.
From Valdez
Drive north 83 miles on the Richardson Highway. Pass Tonsina, then
take the Edgerton Highway east 33 miles to Chitina.
From the AlCan Highway
Drive down the Tok Cutoff to Glennallen. Follow directions from Glennallen.
From Fairbanks
Drive south on the Richardson Highway to Glennallen. Follow directions
from Glennallen.
